DEATHSSamuel H. Rowley, 67, of Elkhart, Ind, formerly of Loveland, died Oct. 18, 2003, after an illness at Elkhart General Hospital.Mr. Rowley was born to Arthur H. and Beatrice Walker Rowley on May 5, 1936, in Loveland. His parents owned A.H. Rowley Plumbing and Heating in Loveland. His mother lived in Loveland until 1998 when she moved to Elkhart. He was a missionary-radio engineer with HCJB (Heralding Christ Jesus Blessing) for 40 years. He served in many places including Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Mariana Islands, Surinam, Grand Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Bolivia<, Australia, Fiji Islands and Papua, New Guinea. He married Grace M. Wood on May 30, 1958, in St. Louis. He is survived by his wife, Grace; his mother, Beatrice Rowley; daughters, Carol Sue Burrill and husband James of Loveland and Sheryl Ann Rowley of Aurora, Ill.; sons, Samuel Rowley Jr. and wife Sheryl Ann of St. Charles, Mo and Stephen Paul Rowley and wife Brenda of Cary, Ill; sister, Lucy Ann Rowley of Coloma, Wis.; and five grandchildren. Friends may visit 4-8 p.m. today at Westbrook-Metz & Clouse Funeral Home in Elkhart. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at First Baptist Church in Elkhart. The Rev. Tom Fulghum, assisted by the Rev. John Blodgett, will officiate. Burial will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at St. Charles Memorial Gardens in St. Charles, Mo. Memorials may be made to HCJB, Papua, New Guinea. |
