Robert 'Bob' Denzil Morrison, 88
NEWARK - Robert "Bob" Denzil Morrison, 88, of Newark died
Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at his residence. He was born March 8, 1917,
in Hopewell Township to the late Charles Ray and Lilly May (McInturf)
Morrison.
Mr. Morrison retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation. He
had also been employed at Owens Corning Fiberglas and Licking Gate
Company. He was a member of the Mount Carmel Christian Union Church,
Madison Grange, Hanover Chapter No. 220 OES, New Home Lodge F&AM,
Licking County Shrine Club and Senior Shriners of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gladys Eileen (Roley)
Morrison, whom he married Feb. 21, 1943; nephews, Larry (Kathy)
Morrison, Charles Ray (Mary) Morrison, both of Newark; step
sister-in-law Helen Kreager of Newark; step nieces Patricia (Ralph)
Wills of Newark and Judy Painter of Hebron; several great- nieces
and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother,
Herman Morrison; stepbrothers Russell Franklin Kreager and Roy
Kreager; stepsister Hazel Hoy; and nephew, Jerry Lee Morrison.
Funeral services for Mr. Morrison will be held Friday, June 10,
2005, at 1:30 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute
Funeral Home with Pastor Carol Hall officiating. Burial will follow
in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Calling hours will be observed Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at
the funeral home, 1850 W. Main St., Newark. Eastern Star services
will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. and Masonic Services at 6:45 p.m.
Thursday evening.
