Mary Y. Nemec

Mary Yvorra Nemec, 81, of Blairsville, Indiana County, died on Friday at her home.

Born Nov. 6, 1922, in Logan, W.Va., she was the daughter of Joseph and Rosie Orts Yvorra.

Mrs. Nemec lived in Cabot before moving to Blairsville eight years ago, where she was a member of the Blairsville United Presbyterian Church.

Before retiring in 1967, she worked for 20 years at Nemec's Floral Shoppe in Freeport.

She will be remembered as a loving Christian mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Surviving are her four daughters, Mary Henke and her husband, Ted, of Hoover, Ala., Juanita Groff and her husband, James, of Lebanon, Josie Ross and her husband, Ronald, of Blairsville, and Tris Ruberge and her husband, Jim, of Murrysville, Westmoreland County; a brother, James Yvorra of Portersville; and two sisters, Rose Martinez of Turtle Creek and Frances Buccelli of Ellwood City. Eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Nemec, who died in 1999; a brother, John Yvorra; and two sisters, Angeline Rodriquez and Violet Rowley.

NEMEC - Friends of Mary Yvorra Nemec, who died Friday, March 5, 2004, will be received from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the SHOEMAKER FUNERAL HOME, 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Jeffrey L. Ruff. Burial will be in the Blairsville Cemetery in Blairsville.
