DEATHS

WILLIAMS, MALINDA BRENT Retired from East Baton Rouge Parish School Board food service with more than 25 years of service and a self-employed cosmetologist for more than 50 years, she died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, at Louisiana Guest House. She was 78, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Arcola. Visiting at Greater Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 6 p.m. until religious services at 8 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Roosevelt Henley. Dismissal at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survived by two daughters, Gloria Severin of New Orleans, and Quincena Rowley Cummings of Baton Rouge; five sons, Quince Williams Jr. and Donald Williams Sr. of Baton Rouge, Willie Boyd Williams of New Orleans, Oliver Williams and James Williams of Detroit; a sister, Bobbie Mae James of New Orleans; a son-in-law, Vernon Severin of New Orleans; three sisters-in-law, Gilda Compton Williams and Doris Crane Williams of Baton Rouge, and Freala Williams of Detroit; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Quince Williams Sr.; parents, Idella Drones Brent and Boyd Brent; a daughter, Vivian Briscoe; and a sister, Ida Lee Evans. Pallbearers will be Donald Ray Williams Sr., Trevis Rowley, Kenneth Patterson, Rene King, Michael Williams and Everett Times. Honorary pallbearers are Quince Williams Jr., Oliver Williams, James Williams, Willie Boyd Williams, Robert Smith, Freddie James, Jesse Vernon and Larry Rowley. She attended Carrie Taylor Beauty School, was a member of Beauticians Local No. 87 for more than 40 years, and finished her schooling in Baton Rouge. Winnfield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
