DEATHSPORT HURON, MICH. — Myrtle O. Fretenborough, 85, of Port Huron, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2000, in the Evangelical Home, Port Huron, after a long illness. She was born to Frederick and Mary Jane Torywell Rowley on November 11, 1914, in Deckerville, Michigan, and had lived in Port Huron nearly all her life. She married Ralph A. Fretenborough in August 1932 in Port Huron. He passed away October 30, 1983. Myrtle was a member of Riverside Tabernacle Church of God, the Autumn Ministries at the church, and worked on many church dinners. She always enjoyed shopping and especially enjoyed celebrating family birthdays and anniversaries. She is survived by her three children, Ralph C. (Muriel) Fretenborough of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Norman R. (Pat) Fretenborough of Fort Gratiot Township, Michigan, and Donna (Stewart) Britton of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; her brother, Norman O. (Elva) Rowley of Port Huron; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 30, 2000, in Riverside Tabernacle Church of God. Myrtle’s grandson, the Rev. Mike Fretenborough, will officiate. Burial will follow at 2:30 P.M. Friday in East Marion Cemetery, Deckerville. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 9:00 P.M. today in the Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock Street, Port Huron, and on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the church. Pallbearers will be Donald Motte, Ray Ledezma, Norm Fretenborough II, Kelly Burkhart, Douglas and Ralph Fretenborough, and David Rowley. Memorial contributions may be made in Myrtle’s memory to the Women’s Ministry of the Riverside Tabernacle Church of God. |
