Pension file, Civil War. It is believed that the man known as Albert S is part of that family. In the pension file of Albert S. Rowley, there is a statement by a doctor who treated William L. Rowley. The document refers to Clarissa A. Rowley, mother of Albert S. Rowley, and then in the preamble, states he has known William S. Rowley, the father of ADELBERT S. ROWLEY, deceased since the year 1868.

The troublesome thing is that in the mother's application she named the surviving children, at the date of son's (Albert S.) death, his brothers and sisters, which did not include Adelbert:   Lloyd C. b. 1834, Elliot T., b. 1836, George M., b. 1840, Myra E., b. 1843, Emma R., b. 1850 and Ida M. b. 1853. [Adelbert did not die until 1909, whereas Albert L. died 7 Apr 1865.]
