He was discharged 18 May 1863.  From 1863 to 1882, he lived in Keokuk, Iowa.  From 1882 on he lived in Washington state.  He was divorced, and lived in Gilman, Washington (PO= Olney).

Samuel Rowley was born 07 Jan 1830, in Dudley, Staffordshire, England. He was a widower. He had 7 living children ages 55, 49, 48, 39, 37, 35, 33. He had resided in Washington since 21 October 1897. He had been a miner. (He was also a Town Marshall for Gilman, WA, but that wasn't listed.) He enlisted 25 July 1862 in Pottsville, PA with regiment B129th PA under Colonel Frink. He was honorably discharged 18 May 1863 in Harrisburgh, PA under Captain William Wren. Reason of discharge "Served my term"  His youngest child was Harriett Rowley born 07 Aug 1873 in Keokuk, Iowa. The unknown child was Happy Rowley who according to the 1880 census was 8, so she was born 1871-2.  Samuel lived with Harriett and her husband Henry Duerden at 323 29th Ave. North Seattle, WA at the time of his application.
His disability was a weak heart with Asthma.
