Russel became a missing person case: last whereabouts given in a letter written May 19th, 1864, as a war prisoner "25 miles N.W. Orange C. H., Virginia"; assumed died from battle wounds in the thigh on May 6, 1864, during the "Battle of the Wilderness" in Virginia. His letter said he was losing his leg to amputation.
Lucy married (2): Allen B. Clark, April 11, 1867 in Burr Oak, St. Joseph County, MI. Note Allen Clark is a pensioner for service in Co. E, 153rd Indiana Volunteers.
