He was discharged 21 Jan 1866, removed from Indiana to Minnesota 1881, to Washington, 1900. He then resided in Everett, Snohomish Co., WA. He had lived in Augusta, Carroll Co., OH before service. From the 1850 census of Carroll Co., OH, we find his parents were born in England and that "Belle" is Arabella, and "Bircham" was also known as William B.] Mary's husband was Manfill according to the family bible.
