1st wife, Lucinda McGrannahan died before 1852 leaving no children. 2nd wife, Nancy Buckalew died 3 or 5 April 1860 at Martin's Mills, Indiana, leaving children Lucinda A. and Ellen May. 3rd wife, Susannah Richter married George Wiley Witt after Alpheus' death on 17 Jul 1873. David Smith became guardian of Lucinda A. Rowley, while John R. Campbell was guardian for Ellen May Rowley. Both were from the second marriage. Noted to be aunts and uncles of these children were Ava Tuttle, David Smith, George W. Jordan and John R. Campbell. Elizabeth Browning was a sister of Alpheus Rowley, and Thomas Browning, identified as a nephew was probably her son.
