10. JOHN4 ROWLEY (Moses,3 Moses,2 Henry1) b. about 1690, in Falmouth; d. January --, 1763, in Colchester, Conn.; m. (1) Sept. 11, 1716, Deborah Fuller, who was perhaps dau. of John and Mehitabel (Rowley) Fuller, of Barnstable and East Haddam. If so, she was not, though living, named by her father in his will. She d. Jan. 30, 1752, aged 63, according to her gravestone. John Rowley married again, as his will of 1763 shows, but her name I have not found. He removed from East Haddam about 1722, and settled in Colchester. He was, in 1729, a member of the church in Westchester parish, and Ensign in the militia service.

(i) March 9, 1727, Anne Fuller, possibly dau. of John and Mehitabel (Rowley) Fuller, of East Haddam; she d. Sept. 6,1741, at Sharon, Conn.; m. (2) Feb. 4, 1742, at Colchester, Abigail Green; m. (3) --- Dorathy -. He lived in Colchester or East Haddam, until 1740; removed to Sharon, and after a year seems to have returned to Colchester, and finally, about 1746-1747, to have settled in Kent. His will, dated Dec. 21, 1769, names all children except Desire and Hepzibah.
Vol. I., p. 500, Kent Land Records: Moses Rowley, of the Oblong, Dutchess Co., N. Y. Unto Jonathan Rowley, of Colchester, land lying in Scatacook, near to Kent, lands in partnership between Jabez Castle and myself, April 28, 1747.
June 14, 1747. Admitted to Kent Church: Jonathan Rowley, Abigail Rowley, Kent Church Records, Nov., 1764. Then appeared the wife of Jonathan Rowlee before the Church and Congregation and Renounced those Tenets peculiar to the Quakers, and was admitted as a Member in full Communion with the Church."
He lived in Kent, a little north of the site of the old meeting house, near the present district called Flanders.

In 1734 Shubael Rowley appears to have been living in North Castle, Westchester Co., N. Y. After that date I lose trace of him.

17. JABEZ ROWLEY4 (Shubael, 3 Moses, 2 Henry1), b. about 1702; m. Feb. 29, 1724, Tabitha Harris at Colchester, Conn. He was in 1725 a member of the School Committee, and in 1727 Inspector of Highways. About 1741 they removed to Kent, Conn., where they united with the church there, May 4, 1746. He d. at Kent between 1780 and 1783, his widow surviving.

that Timothy Rowley of Falmouth, conveyed on June 22, 1769, to Matthew Rowley, carpenter of Falmouth, all his real estate in Falmouth "being the westerly half of the fourteenth lot in Woods Hole, Great Neck, so called," with the dwelling house, barn, marsh land at Little Sippewissett, with all appurtenances, also all his personal estate, reserving to himself " for my own use during my natural life, the best Room in my Dwelling House, the Yard by my Barn, the one half of the Profits of my Horse, and one Quarter Part Of the Apples which my orchard shall afford for sale," on condition that Matthew " afford me a comfortable maintenance during my Natural Life, to perform which He hath entered into obligation by an instrument, under his hand and seal, of even date with these presents."

No record of children found at Falmouth; perhaps removed to some part of Dutchess Co., N. Y.
22. Moses4 ROWLEY (Nathan, 3 Moses, 2 Henry1), b. Feb., 1704, in Falmouth, Mass.; d. about 1779, in East Hampton Society, Chatham, Conn.; m. July 3, 1724, Mehitabel Weeks, dau. probably of Richard Weeks. See Weeks Genealogy, p. 358. "Moses Rowley's wife deceased Dec. 18, 1771, aged 73(?) years. East Hampton Church Records. Ebenezer Rowley, of Haddam (east side), sold to Moses Rowley the third of East Haddam land in the westernmost furlong or tier of lots near Salmon River. This deed is dated July 19, 1733. The land was in Middletown. He must have settled here about this time. In 1748 he was transferred from the Society of Middle Haddam, where his land legally lay, to the parish of East Haddam. East Haddam Church Records have the following: "May 23, 1731, baptized Moses Rowley the third and Mehitabel his wife, also their two children Nathan and Mercy."
